The reference image can help you understand how to build an embedded system using the
Sensor Framework or to experiment with sample applications.
This image is configured to run the ADAS example using pre-recorded sensor data.
Here are the ways you can use the reference image:
-
As a development and test platform. You can develop applications using the Sensor Framework
and then run them on the VMware image, or you can use the image to test an existing application.
For more information, see Connect to the reference image in this chapter.
-
Evaluate the features that can run on the VMware image. You can run
applications that come with the image to see how their features respond.
For more information, see Run sample applications.
-
Evaluate how the image works with the USB camera.
For more information, see Connect cameras and sensors.
There may be limitations on the type of hardware you can connect to the VMware image.
For information about the hardware that you can use, see
Supported hardware configurations
in the
About the Sensor Framework for QNX SDP chapter of this guide.
Configuration files
The following reference image configuration files let the system know what cameras are connected:
- Sensor configuration file
- The default file is located at
/system/etc/system/config/adas_capture.conf. It configures the Sensor Framework
to make use of pre-recorded sensor data.
- System Launch Configuration (SLM) file
- The main SLM file is located at /proc/boot/slm.cfg.
Sample applications on the reference image
The reference image includes sample applications. The applications described in this guide are the ones that
function on the reference image with predefined configurations. For more information about the applications
and how to use them, see Run sample applications in this chapter.
Understanding the reference image
The reference image is configured to be an example you can refer to when you build your own image.
